Clinical Cases by Dr. Juan José Gersberg
Branemark Protocol Modified

It was decided to extract any remaining teeth, and place 5 OsseoMate implants between mental holes, Branemark Protocol modified.

Central-implant placement, at low revolutions.

Here we can see the 5 implants placed with their correspondent hex protective screws (healing cylinders). Note that the smooth and highly polished implant collar protrudes 1 mm from the cortical ridge.

We have used the semi-submerged surgical procedure, thus providing biologic width, which will favor gingival adaptation after the first surgery, preventing bone resorption of the ridge.

Two-month postoperative period

After two months, we can see optimal gingival health. We have succeeded with the gingiva attached to the implant collar. This attached gingiva forecasts successful long-term behavior of implants.
